
Qatar has delivered a standout performance, finishing second at a regional cybersecurity training exercise hosted in Zimbabwe under the coordination of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The programme, held in Zimbabwe, brought together cybersecurity professionals, Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT/CSIRT), technical officials, law enforcement representatives, and experts from African and Arab states. The exercise was designed to strengthen regional cooperation in cyber defence and improve incident response capabilities in an increasingly complex digital threat landscape.

Organisers said the training focused on enhancing communication, coordination, and operational readiness when responding to cyber incidents, while also promoting cross-border collaboration to tackle evolving cyber risks.
Representing the National Cyber Security Agency, Qatar’s team impressed throughout the joint exercises, ultimately securing second place overall and highlighting its growing technical capability in the cybersecurity space.
