Signs of a revival are beginning to emerge at Manica Diamonds, with sweeping changes in the club’s leadership structure coinciding with improved performances and growing optimism around the Gem Boys' future.
After enduring a difficult start to the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign and battling financial challenges that left the team winless in their opening 10 matches, the Mutare-based side is showing renewed stability both on and off the pitch.
The latest move in the restructuring exercise is the appointment of youthful entrepreneur and technocrat Justice Matsatsira to the club’s board. Matsatsira joins a revamped executive that recently saw Tinashe Chipunza assume the chairmanship, Taurai Kandishaya become secretary-general and Letmore Tapiwa Mbidzo take up the vice-chair position.
Club benefactor Evans Kamombo believes the strengthened leadership team will provide the foundation required to steer the club towards sustained success.
Officials say the changes are aimed at reinforcing governance structures, improving administration and creating opportunities for strategic partnerships as the club seeks long-term financial and competitive stability.
