Prosecutors allege that on May 7, 2026, Bere went to a fallen TelOne pole along 91st Street in Kuwadzana 5 and began removing drop wires.

He allegedly cut and removed six metres of TelOne drop wire.

The court heard that a security guard who was patrolling the area noticed Bere dismantling the wires and approached him. When questioned, he allegedly failed to give a satisfactory explanation, leading to his arrest.

The recovered drop wires were seized as exhibits and were later positively identified as TelOne property valued at US$66.

Bere is expected to return to court on a later date.
