A South African High Court has reinstated an asset freeze against fraud-convicted loudmouth Wicknell Chivayo, reviving restrictions on his bank accounts and high-value assets in a cross-border divorce dispute.
The order, issued by the Gauteng Division of the High Court in Pretoria on 23 April 2026, brings back an interim anti-dissipation ruling first granted on 20 January, effectively reimposing controls that had previously fallen away.
The reinstated order covers high-value movable assets, including a Bombardier Challenger 300 private jet.

Justice Teffo’s ruling bars Chivayo and associated entities from accessing, transferring or dealing with listed assets while the dispute with his estranged wife, Louise Sonja Madzikanda, continues before the courts.
The application targets a wide network of financial institutions and companies, including major South African banks and firms linked to Chivayo, reflecting concerns that the assets could disappear if left unrestricted. At the centre of the dispute is control of a substantial estate cited in parallel divorce proceedings continue in Zimbabwe.
The couple must return to court on 15 June, where Chivayo is expected to argue why the temporary order should not be made permanent. If he fails to convince the court, the order will be confirmed.
