Man Arrested After Storming State House

 

A Mt Darwin man has appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court after he allegedly entered the restricted precincts of State House demanding to see President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Charles Muchemwa, 36, is facing criminal trespassing charges following his arrest at the highly secured premises.

The court heard that on April 19,2026, Muchemwa allegedly encroached into a restricted area at State House in Harare.

According to the State, the accused entered the presidential premises insisting that he wanted to meet the President, claiming he had information he wished to relay personally.

Security personnel reportedly ordered Muchemwa to leave the premises, but he allegedly refused to comply and continued insisting on seeing the Head of State.

His refusal to vacate the restricted zone resulted in his immediate arrest.

Muchemwa appeared in court facing criminal trespassing allegations and is expected to return to court as proceedings continue.
