A 14-year-old girl from the Maglass suburb is reportedly five months pregnant after an encounter with a 15-year-old boy. The identities of both minors have been withheld for legal reasons.
The girl, who was a Grade Seven pupil at the time of the incident, has since withdrawn from school. The boy involved is reportedly a Form One student.
Investigations reveal that the girl’s family initially considered reporting the matter to the authorities upon discovering the pregnancy. However, they ultimately decided against filing a formal report, citing the fact that the boy responsible is also a minor.
The girl confirmed that her parents have no intention of involving law enforcement.

"My parents didn’t make a police report and they have no plans to do so," she stated.
Despite the lack of official action, the situation has touched the hearts of local residents. At the Todhi business centre in Maglass, community members were observed offering the teenager small sums of money to help her purchase basic necessities.
One resident, who handed the girl two dollars, expressed the collective sympathy of the neighbourhood. "I only feel bad when I see this young child pregnant," she said. "Giving her the little we have will help her cover some of her needs."
The pregnancy has brought the teenager's education to a temporary standstill. However, she remains hopeful about eventually completing her schooling. When asked about her future, she expressed a desire to return to the classroom after the birth of her child.
"I think I will return to school after I give birth if my parents allow it," she said.
Under current Zimbabwean educational policy, pregnant pupils are legally permitted to remain in school, and those who leave are encouraged to re-enrol after giving birth to ensure their right to education is protected.
