
A 37-year-old man from Kuwadzana 4, Harare, has appeared in court after allegedly stealing a purple Nissan Caravan valued at US$18,000, following a deceptive arrangement with the vehicle owner.
Tafadzwa Nemadziva, 37, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing a charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
The court heard that on March 13, 2026, Nemadziva befriended the complainant, who was driving from the Harare CBD to Budiriro, and offered to assist with deliveries.

He was later given control of the vehicle and allegedly drove it to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport under false pretences.
The complainant had agreed to transport nursery school children to the airport, but Nemadziva allegedly vanished with the vehicle.
Detectives later tracked the car to Mazowe, where it was intercepted near the 45km peg along the Harare–Centenary Road, leading to Nemadziva’s arrest.
The vehicle was successfully recovered.
