Zimbabwe has welcomed the 23rd Chinese Medical Team, marking another phase in the long-running health cooperation programme between Zimbabwe and China.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care said it bid farewell to the outgoing 22nd team while receiving a new nine-member cohort composed of specialist doctors and a public health expert.
In a shift aimed at improving continuity of care, authorities have extended the deployment period for Chinese medical teams from one year to one and a half years.

Officials described the incoming team as bringing “a powerhouse of expertise, consisting of nine members, including specialist doctors and a public health expert.”
The ministry also paid tribute to the outgoing medical team for its service to the country’s healthcare sector, noting: “We honour the outgoing team for their incredible service and look forward to the positive impact this new team will make on our medical community.”
