Annalisa Muguwe (29), the former wife of Batsirai Matiza — son of the late Transport Minister Biggie Matiza — appeared before Harare magistrate Kudzanai Kapurura yesterday facing allegations of breaching a protection order.
Muguwe pleaded not guilty to the charge. The matter was remanded to March 17 for commencement of trial.
According to court proceedings, Muguwe was granted a protection order by Magistrate Mashawakure at the Harare Civil Court on February 14, 2025. The order barred her from insulting or assaulting her ex-husband, Batsirai Matiza.

The State alleges that in January 2026, Muguwe violated the order by sending text messages to Matiza and attempting to contact him several times.
Prosecutors further allege that she stalked Matiza’s brother, actions which led the complainant to file a report at Rhodesville Police Station.
Muguwe was subsequently arrested and brought before the court.
The trial is expected to determine whether her actions constituted a breach of the protection order.
