
A 43-year-old landlady from Vumbachikwe Mine has been sentenced to 17 years in prison by the Gwanda Magistrates' Court after being convicted of aggravated indecent assault against a four-year-old tenant.
The offence occurred in late November 2025, when the woman coerced the child into sexual activity.
The abuse came to light after the victim attempted to imitate the act with his seven-year-old brother.
Alarmed, the children's mother and a neighbour questioned him, and he disclosed that the landlady had previously subjected him to similar abuse.
