FC Hunters Clarifies Franchise Status Following Corporate Restructuring

FC Hunters Marondera  formally clarified   its franchise and ownership status following widespread speculation about a possible takeover by businessman Scott Sakupwanya.

In official correspondence to the Premier Soccer League dated 28 January 2026, the club stated that FC Hunters is wholly owned and remains under the full control of FC Hunters Marondera (Private) Limited.

The club explained that it recently underwent a capital restructuring process authorised by Board Resolution Number 1 of 12 December 2025, in line with the Companies and Other Business Entities Act. The restructuring resulted in changes to the shareholding and capital structure of the company but did not amount to a sale or transfer of the club’s franchise.
