Zimbabwe Targets Global Produce Markets Berlin

Zimbabwe’s horticulture sector is set for international exposure next year after Linda Nielsen, the Chief Executive Officer of the Horticultural Development Council  confirmed that the country will participate in Fruit Logistica 2026 in Berlin, Germany.

Posting ahead of the global trade fair, Nielsen invited industry players to engage with Zimbabwe’s delegation, writing “Will we see you in Berlin? Let’s connect!  as anticipation builds for the February exhibition.

Fruit Logistica, scheduled for February 4 to 6, 2026, is widely regarded as the world’s leading trade fair for the fresh produce industry, bringing together growers, exporters, buyers and logistics companies from across the globe.

Zimbabwe will exhibit at Hall 26, Stand G-80, where HDC is expected to engage potential buyers and partners.

Nielsen said the Berlin platform is critical for positioning Zimbabwe’s horticulture sector in international markets.

She noted that the event offers more than visibility, describing it as a gateway to new commercial relationships and export opportunities.

“It’s an important platform for showcasing Zimbabwe’s horticultural potential, building export markets, and putting local producers in front of international buyers,” Nielsen said.

Fruit Logistica attracts thousands of exhibitors and trade visitors annually, making it a key marketplace for fresh fruit and vegetable trade, packaging solutions and logistics innovations.

For Zimbabwe, the event provides an opportunity to promote its produce value chains while engaging directly with decision-makers in global supply networks.

The horticulture sector remains a significant contributor to Zimbabwe’s agricultural economy, supporting farmers, exporters and allied industries.

Industry observers said  participation at international trade fairs such as Fruit Logistica is increasingly important as producers seek diversified markets and long-term buyers.
