Two men, Desmond Zvinamano, 32, and Sekai Dogo, 57, have been accused of stealing hired vehicles after allegedly failing to return cars they obtained from a Harare car hire business.
The pair is accused of working with an accomplice, Masimba Mabeza, who is still at large. According to allegations, the trio hired a black Toyota Auris (AGY 6974) in November 2025 from a car hire garage after signing the necessary paperwork.
Instead of returning the vehicle, the men allegedly sold it. Investigators later recovered the Toyota Auris from Andrew Nhimura, who reportedly bought the car from the accused.

The vehicle was found with a fake registration book and had been fraudulently registered in the name of Chamunorwa Danda. Authorities say the car is now being kept as evidence, with its value estimated at US$14,000.
In a separate incident, the same group is accused of hiring a white Toyota Aqua (AGN 6006) from the same business through WhatsApp, also in November 2025.
Although the accused reportedly extended the hire period and made a payment via EcoCash, the vehicle was never returned. The Toyota Aqua, valued at US$6,500, has not yet been recovered.
The two men were later arrested following information received by investigators and are expected to return to court on February 25, 2025.
