Jilted woman fails to drag ex back with insults and violence

A Harare man has taken his former partner to court after accusing her of trying to bully and intimidate her way back into a relationship through public insults and violent confrontations following their breakup.

Admire Ngizazi appeared before the Harare Civil Court seeking a peace order against Faith Masadza, whom he described as a jilted lover who has refused to accept that their four-month relationship is over.

Ngizazi told the court that Masadza routinely disturbs his peace, even in public places.

“She insults me whenever she wants. Even when she sees me walking along the road, she starts shouting at me,” he told the court.

He said one of their arguments escalated into violence after Masadza allegedly attempted to grab his private parts, forcing him to throw her belongings out of the house.

Ngizazi said the confrontation was out of character for him and insisted that he no longer wants any relationship with Masadza.

“I just want my peace. I do not want to reconcile,” he told the court.

In response, Masadza opposed the application, telling the court that they dated for four months and do not have a child together.

She said their problems began when Ngizazi developed a close friendship with another woman whom he referred to as his “sahwira.”

Masadza alleged that Ngizazi would frequently go out with the female friend until late hours after dropping groceries at home, leaving her feeling neglected.

She said she had suggested that they go out together as a couple, but Ngizazi continued to prioritize his friend.

Masadza told the court that she still loves Ngizazi and wants him back, adding that she was heartbroken and disappointed because he had promised never to leave her.

The magistrate noted that Ngizazi had clearly stated that he does not want to reconcile and reserved judgment, ordering the parties to return for the ruling.
