Zambian President Hichilema to Visit Zim for Inaugural Bi-National Commission

 

Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema is set to undertake a state visit to Zimbabwe on November 14, 2025 at the invitation of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Foreign Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe said the visit will see President Hichilema and President Mnangagwa co-chair the inaugural session of the Zambia–Zimbabwe Bi-National Commission, a key platform aimed at deepening cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wishes to inform the nation that His Excellency Mr Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, will undertake a State Visit to the Republic of Zimbabwe on 14 November 2025, at the invitation of His Excellency Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe,” the statement read in part.

The BNC is expected to review and strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors, including trade, energy, transport, and tourism. It will also address cross-border infrastructure development and efforts to boost regional integration.

The two presidents are anticipated to discuss joint strategies for enhancing economic growth, improving connectivity, and tackling shared challenges such as climate change and energy security.
