Zimbabwe has been invited to attend the 130th Anniversary celebrations of Le Cordon Bleu International, one of the world’s most prestigious culinary and hospitality institutions, in recognition of the growing strategic relations between the two countries’ tourism sectors.
The invitation follows the visit to France by the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, who attended the IFTM Top Resa 2025 International Tourism Fair earlier this month. Her engagement with key French institutions and investors has strengthened Zimbabwe’s visibility on the global tourism stage.

Le Cordon Bleu has expressed a strong interest in exploring collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, particularly in supporting the establishment of the proposed African International Culinary Arts Academy in Victoria Falls. The academy will operate under the Patronage of the First Lady of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, and aims to nurture culinary excellence and advance gastronomy tourism in Africa.
Minister Rwodzi said the invitation reflects the confidence that global institutions have in Zimbabwe’s tourism vision.
“This engagement is a clear endorsement of Zimbabwe’s growing reputation as a destination for sustainable and experience-based tourism,” she said. “Our partnership with Le Cordon Bleu will strengthen culinary education, enhance hospitality standards, and create international opportunities for our young professionals.”
The collaboration is expected to include training exchanges, chef development programmes, and joint initiatives that will boost Zimbabwe’s capacity in hospitality and gastronomy.
The Ministry said the development reaffirms Zimbabwe’s commitment to advancing Gastronomy Tourism, promoting professional excellence, and fostering international cooperation as key pillars for sustainable tourism growth.
