Ngezi Platinum Stars Suspend Coach Takesure Chiragwi

Ngezi Platinum Stars have reportedly suspended coach Takesure Chiragwi for three matches following an incident in which he allegedly slapped one of his players, McDonald Makuwe, during a league game.

The incident occurred in a 1-1 draw against Dynamos two weeks ago and has sparked widespread concern over the coach’s conduct.

According to Soccer24, during Chiragwi’s suspension, assistant coach Kumbirayi Mutiwekuziwa will take charge of the team.

The club, known as the Mhondoro Miners, has remained tight-lipped about the situation, offering little comment when approached for details.

Chiragwi, who was named the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Coach of the Year in 2023, now faces disciplinary action from the league, with a PSL Disciplinary Hearing scheduled for October 28.

The three-match ban handed down by Ngezi management could see Chiragwi return to the bench for the team’s final game of the season against MWOS, depending on the outcome of the league’s proceedings.
