Ngezi Platinum Stars head coach Takesure Chiragwi has been summoned to appear before the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee following an on-field altercation during his team’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash against Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium on October 4, 2025.
The incident, which was broadcast live on national television, saw* Chiragwi slap midfielder McDonald Makuwe, who had stepped in to calm him after a controversial Dynamos goal sparked heated protests.
The coach had moments earlier been shown a red card by referee Lawrence Zimhondi for verbally abusing the match officials.
The dramatic scenes quickly went viral on social media, prompting widespread outrage from fans and stakeholders across the football community.

Following the backlash, Chiragwi issued a public apology and resigned as the Warriors’ assistant coach, describing his actions as “wholly inappropriate and unbecoming of a coach.”
In a statement released on Monday, PSL Communications and Media Liaison Officer Kudzai Bare confirmed that Chiragwi faces charges of violent and disorderly conduct as well as improper behaviour likely to bring the game of football into disrepute.
Ngezi Platinum Stars have also been charged for disrupting the normal proceedings of the match and for improper conduct by members of their technical team and playing squad.
Bare added that the disciplinary hearings for both the coach and the club are scheduled for Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at 5:30 PM, and will take place at the PSL offices.
