Gardener, Maid in Court for Stealing US$35k from Employer

 

Two employees of a businessman are set to appear in court facing allegations of stealing goods worth thousands of dollars from their employer’s residence in Borrowdale.

Gift Muzilikazi, a 58-year-old gardener, Wilbert Maambirwi, and 25-year-old housemaid Tariro Manda are facing theft charges for allegedly stealing goods worth US$35,000 from Muzilikazi’s residence in Borrowdale.

The accused, who worked for Muzilikazi, are alleged to have conspired to steal various clothes, shoes, and cutlery between January 2024 and October 2025.

The stolen items were reportedly taken to their homes for resale.

The complainant discovered the theft in September 2025 and reported the matter to the police.

During the investigation, detectives recovered property valued at US$16,000.

Both accused individuals admitted to committing the offence when questioned by the police.
