Zimbabwe gears up For Benny Hinn crusade

Zimbabwe is set to host a three-day Benny Hinn Crusade from October 10 to 12, 2025, at The Miracle Grounds in Ashdown Park, Harare, in what is expected to be a major boost for Religious Tourism. The event is anticipated to draw about 45 000  attendees, making it one of the largest faith gatherings in the country this year.

Today, the founder of Heartfelt International Ministries, Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe, whose ministry has grown to more than 15 000 congregants nationwide, together with the Missions Director of Benny Hinn International Crusades, Dr Doorn Marie, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi, ahead of the gathering.

Speaking after the meeting, Apostle Vutabwashe said the crusade would be a spiritual milestone for Zimbabwe and a chance to showcase the country’s hospitality.

“This event is not only about faith, but it is also about uniting people and uplifting lives. We believe Zimbabwe will demonstrate to the world its warmth and spirit as thousands gather for this crusade,” he said.

Dr Doorn Marie said the crusade would bring an international spotlight on Zimbabwe as a destination for Religious Tourism.

“We are excited to be partnering with local churches and government to host this event. Our mission is to touch lives through the word of God, and Zimbabwe is providing the perfect platform for this divine encounter,” she said.

Minister Rwodzi welcomed the initiative, saying Religious Tourism was increasingly becoming an important contributor to economic growth.

“Religious Tourism has the capacity to drive development by supporting local industries such as food, transport, accommodation and the energy sector. The Benny Hinn Crusade will create jobs and promote enterprise development while offering tourists an unforgettable experience,” she said.

The meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Information, Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Tatenda Mavetera, underscored government’s commitment to collaborating with faith-based organisations in hosting large scale events that merge faith, culture and hospitality.
