
Warriors supporters are jubilant following the appointment of former Dynamos and Warriors defender Kaitano Tembo as an assistant coach in the national team ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
The ex-SuperSport United coach's appointment and that of Sharif Mussa is with immediate effect.
In a move also generating excitement, veteran football administrator Mussa will be working alongside Team Manager Clement Matawu.
The appointments signal a welcome injection of experience into the Warriors' technical and administrative structures, prompting an enthusiastic response from the fan base.
Both Tembo and Mussa bring a deep understanding of the African football landscape.
Tembo was a key part of the Warriors squad that featured in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, a campaign Mussa was also involved with as part of the management team.

Speaking to Zim Now, fan Loveness Kachidza warmly welcomed the new development, seeing it as a sign of renewed commitment from the football administration.
"ZIFA has shown that they are really serious, the appointment of Kaitano and Sherriff speaks volumes, and as fans we are very happy," she said.
The sentiment was echoed by Joseph Mutawu President of the Zimbabwe National Supporters Association, who stated the appointments align perfectly with the supporters' desires for the national team.
"This appointment resonates with what we want to achieve as a nation," he told this publication. "The experience which Kaitano and Sharif possess is what we need going forward."
Prominent Warriors supporter Tinashe Chakadza also welcomed the move, highlighting the value of proven expertise.
"I think ZIFA leadership knows what we want to achieve as a nation, and bringing experience in the technical department is commendable," Chakadza said. "I wish them all the best with our beloved national team."
The fans are aware that Tembo brings a wealth of experience in African football both as a player and a coach.
