
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made a series of key diplomatic appointments, deploying senior envoys to Cuba, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.
The announcements were made through the Government Gazette published on September 17, 2025.
According to the notice, Patrick Ronald Mutasa has been appointed Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Cuba.

The Gazette reads, “It is hereby notified that His Excellency the President has, in terms of section 110(2)(i) as read with section 204 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 20) Act 2013, appointed Patrick Ronald Mutasa as Ambassador to Cuba.”
In a separate appointment, Lovemore Mazemo was named Ambassador to South Africa. “His Excellency the President has … appointed Lovemore Mazemo as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to South Africa,” the Gazette stated.
The UAE also received a new envoy, with Isaac Anania Moyo taking up the diplomatic post. The notice confirmed, “His Excellency the President has … appointed Isaac Anania Moyo as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to United Arab Emirates.”
Meanwhile, David Douglas Hamadziripi has been assigned to Washington as Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United States.
“His Excellency the President has … appointed David Douglas Hamadziripi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to United States of America,” the Gazette read.
