Sheasham FC strengthened its hopes of earning promotion to the Premier Soccer League after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC Platinum U-19, a result that saw the Gweru-based side move to 54 points while maintaining its position at the top of the league table.

With just a few matches remaining, Sheasham is locked in a race with second-placed Hardrock FC, who trail by six points. Despite the pressure that comes with such a tight contest, head coach Prince Matore remains calm and confident that his team can hold their advantage.

“Maybe the pressure is on the fans, but for us there is no pressure. With a six-point difference, we just need to maintain our position,” Matore said after the match.

Sheasham’s players have also expressed confidence in their campaign, with captain Lucky Musungo already looking ahead to their upcoming clash against Jame West.

“With the great players we have here at Sheasham, we are 100% confident of entering the PSL,” he said.

The Construction Boys, as Sheasham FC are affectionately known, have been consistent throughout the season, balancing defensive solidity with attacking flair.

Their latest win not only extended their lead but also reinforced their credentials as promotion favorites.
