Dopota Primary Receives Digital Skills Boost

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, represented by Defence Minister and ZANU-PF chairperson Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, has launched a new digital laboratory at Dopota Primary School in Defe, Gokwe, in a move aimed at expanding access to technology and skills development in rural communities.

The facility, donated by the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services and handed over by ICT Minister Tatenda Mavetera, comes equipped with laptops and internet connectivity.

Speaking to congregants gathered for a Zion Christian Church event, Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Professor Paul Mavima applauded the President for “bringing development to rural communities as witnessed by the provision of electricity, internet, and digital skills to Dopota Primary.”

Mavima commended Minister Mavetera for the donation of laptops, and praised ZCC for championing skills development within religious organisations. He urged the community to embrace digital literacy as a driver of local development and called on young people to shun drug and substance abuse.

The launch marks a continued push by government to integrate technology into rural education, part of efforts to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural Zimbabwe.
