Mystery remains as kidnapped SA based Zimbabwean businessman’s returns home

Ranga Gova

The public has been left to wonder what exactly happened to Ranga Gova after he returned home after more than a month is which he was listed as missing, an apparent kidnap victim.

“We are extremely happy to let everyone know that Ranga Gova is back home. We, as his family, would like to thank all the media outlets who helped spread the news, everyone who kept him in their prayers, and the effort of the South African Police Service. We are truly grateful and appreciate the support,” the family told IOL media outlet.

The family then asked for privacy leaving the public with unanswered questions of what exactly happened and how Gova got to come back home. The police have not issued a statement on the case that attracted a viral social media movement calling for Gova’s return.

CCTV footage showed Gova driving his wife’s grey Mercedes-Benz CLA200D and stopping at traffic lights near the Midstream Mediclinic in Centurion just before 8pm on Thursday, November 3.

That placed him around two minutes from the estate that his family lives in.

People exit both cars and Gova is escorted to the silver car that stopped alongside the one he was driving.

The silver vehicle makes a u-turn and speeds off. Someone drives Gova’s vehicle and follows the silver car with the third car joining in.

Police recovered Gova’s vehicle two days later on Saturday, November 5, in the same neighbourhood near his home.
