Another inside job, as Kwekwe US$600 000 robbers arrested

Police have arrested one of the suspects behind the November 27 Kwekwe early morning raid on a service station where US$600 000 and over R63 400 was stolen amid indications that a woman provided the gang with inside information.

The armed robbery case occurred at Rockdox Service Station.

Mathias Mushure, 43 was arresetd while hiding at a house in New Lobengula in Bulawayo. 

His arrest led to the recovery of US$1 937 which had been given to his niece, Mercy Muisa for safekeeping. Police also recovered a Toyota Runx, registration number AEI 6671, which had been bought using money from the robbery.

Mushure indicated that he had received US$7 500 as his share from the loot and the suspects had received inside information.

A woman named Sharon, lover of one of the suspects  is alleged to have revealed that huge amounts of money were kept at the filling station.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said police have since launched a manhunt for Mushure's his accomplices who are still at large.

They have only been identified as Shaky, Dingilizwe Mloyi, Terrence Ngwenya, Mutonga, Ngolile, Mangwiro and Mtunzi.
