Temba Mliswa was unanimously elected vice president of the African Parliamentarians’ Network Against Corruption during APNAC’s board meeting held from July 23–25, 2025, in Cotonou, Benin.
Mliswa replaces Edouardo Namburete of Mozambique, who recently transitioned to a diplomatic posting. The board—comprising delegates from countries including Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe—approved several strategic reforms:
• Formation of a Technical Committee to amend the Network’s constitution
• Automatic leadership of National Chapters by Parliament Speakers
• Expanded partnerships with UN agencies, IPU, and Transparency International
• Establishing a secretariat in Ghana in collaboration with ACEPA
• Instituting an annual anti‑corruption reflection event on 11 July, to commemorate African Anti‑Corruption Day
APNAC’s next Biennial General Meeting will be held in Ghana in November 2025, where further reforms—including financial strategies—will be finalized.
