Invictus Energy is on course to start drilling Musuma-1 in the second half of 2025, the company has reported in its latest quarterly update.
Musuma is its first high-impact gas exploration well outside the proven Mukuyu discovery in Zimbabwe’s Cabora Bassa Basin.

The new prospect targets a potential 1.2 trillion cubic feet of gas and 73 million barrels of condensate, backed by strong seismic signals.
The company also confirmed that Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Finance is granting the Cabora Bassa Project National Project Status—a major step that unlocks incentives like duty exemptions and faster permits.
With petroleum agreements near finalization and strategic investor talks progressing, the groundwork is being laid not just for energy discovery but for transformation of Zimbabwe’s energy landscape and investment profile.
