ZRP Appeals for Road Safety
ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi conveyed the force’s condolences to the bereaved families, while urging motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads.
“Drivers must be alert, patient, and responsible behind the wheel,” said Nyathi.
“We urge the public to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy at all times to help prevent mechanical failures that can lead to such devastating incidents.”
Police said they are still conducting investigations to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
Preliminary reports suggest that the kombi was overloaded and may have attempted to overtake in a dangerous spot when the accident occurred, but authorities say a full report will be released once investigations are complete.
