Beaven "The One" Sibanda, Zimbabwe's newest boxing hero, received a thunderous welcome at Robert Mugabe International Airport on Monday morning after his sensational victory in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) International Minimum-weight title fight. Sibanda made history by becoming the first Zimbabwean boxer to claim this prestigious title, dislodging the Philippines' Richard Garde with a stunning fifth-round knockout in their 12-round bout.
The young pugilist was met by jubilant family members, passionate boxing fans, and local promoter Clyde Musonda of Delta Force, all eager to celebrate his groundbreaking achievement.
"The feeling is very overwhelming," Sibanda shared, visibly moved by the reception. "I am so happy and excited to be back home after winning the IBF title, and it is a blessing for me."
