Zimdancehall artist Ras Pompy, whose real name is Nyasha Reginald Mano, was granted US$100 bail after his arrest for unlawful possession of cough syrups worth US$396. He was charged with contravening the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act.

The musician was arrested on July 16, 2025, after detectives from CID Drugs Harare spotted his vehicle in a traffic jam. According to the State, Ras Pompy sped off when detectives signalled him to pull over, leading to a chase. The court heard that he hit a metal pole during the pursuit.

Ras Pompy's lawyer, Liberty Gono, told the court that his client fled in fear for his life because the police officers were not in uniform and were using a private vehicle. He also claimed that Ras Pompy was sent to collect the vehicle by his brother and had no idea what was inside.

The magistrate, Gamuchirai Gore, granted bail, taking into consideration Ras Pompy's fixed abode and his career as a musician. The court ordered Ras Pompy to reside at his given address, report to Mbare Police Station every Friday, and not interfere with witnesses.
