Troubled Lowveld side Triangle United faces a formidable challenge this afternoon as they host Ngezi Platinum Stars at Gibbo Stadium. Currently embroiled in the Premier Soccer League's relegation matrix alongside Dynamos and Kwekwe United, this match carries immense weight for the "Sugar Boys" in their desperate bid for survival.

Head coach Genesis Mangombe, whose side finds themselves in a precarious position on the league table (currently 15th with 18 points from 19 games), expressed a cautious yet hopeful outlook ahead of the encounter with the former champions.

"We just want to make sure that we try and convert the draws into wins," Mangombe stated, highlighting the team's struggle to secure maximum points despite recent improvements. "The boys are responding and working very hard, and now we can win games. We have also added other players, and we are doing well."

Mangombe emphasized the positive changes within his squad, indicating a healthier and more robust team across all departments. "Our squad is now healthy, starting from the defending department, midfield department, and the attack force, and we are ready for Ngezi."

Despite Ngezi Platinum Stars' strong standing in fifth position with 31 points from 19 matches, Mangombe's men are ready to face the challenge head-on. "We know Ngezi is a very good side and they are the former champions, so we will take this game very seriously," he affirmed.

Crucially, Triangle United will be banking on their home advantage at Gibbo Stadium. "Playing at our own home ground is a plus for us. We are going to use our territorial advantage to win this game," Mangombe confidently asserted. The Sugar Boys also report no injury concerns, ensuring a full-strength squad for this pivotal match.
