The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair  Company has announced the launch of its first-ever Tech Expo, set for July, in a bold move to drive innovation, industrial development, and regional trade integration.

ZITF Chief Executive Officer Dr Nicholas Ndebele made the announcement at the Money and Wealth 2025 programme held at the Golden Conifer Conference Centre in Harare, describing the new platform as a catalyst for transformative partnerships and cutting-edge solutions.

“ZITF is not just an exhibition. It is a vital platform for showcasing entrepreneurial innovations, fostering trade relations, and driving economic growth in our region,” said Dr Ndebele.

The Tech Expo, to be hosted at the Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Centre, will focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital systems, and automation — all geared toward improving productivity and governance.

“Our exhibitors will be showcasing trailblazing solutions that can transform industries, thereby answering the call by the heads of state at the recent 57th Plenary Assembly of the SADC Parliamentary Forum,” he said.

Over the years, ZITF has evolved into a major economic driver, with additional platforms like the Green Business Expo, Scholastica, and AfriContracts — the Africa Infrastructure and Built Environment Expo — promoting investment in agriculture, infrastructure, education, and clean technologies.

“These events are meticulously designed to highlight key industries and foster an entrepreneurial spirit among diverse stakeholders,” said Dr Ndebele. “They serve as essential pillars for sustainable economic growth.”

He also called for stronger collaboration between government, development partners, and the private sector to support inclusive entrepreneurship, especially in underserved communities.

“Support from both government and private sector stakeholders is indispensable, as it provides crucial financial assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs across key sectors,” he said.

Dr Ndebele further emphasised the need to embed entrepreneurship education in schools to build practical, future-facing skills. He praised Zimbabwe’s education sector for promoting solution-oriented thinking and innovation.

“At the end of July, the ZITF will host Scholastica to bring together various stakeholders to implement solutions that generate wealth without borders,” he added.

Wrapping up his address, Dr Ndebele urged attendees at the Money and Wealth 2025 programme to fully leverage the opportunities ZITF offers through workshops, exhibitions, and networking sessions.

“As we move through this event, I urge all participants to engage actively and strategically, because together we are shaping Zimbabwe’s economic trajectory,” he said.
