Valley Seeds, one of Zimbabwe’s leading seed houses, has announced its full preparedness for the 2025–2026 farming season, signaling a positive outlook for the agricultural sector.

The company confirmed that all seeds designated for the Presidential Input Programme (PIP) have already been sourced, with 60% delivered and the remainder expected to arrive well before the start of the planting season. This proactive approach ensures farmers will have timely access to high-quality seed varieties.

Managing Director Aluis Chareka expressed confidence in the company’s operations and emphasized Valley Seeds’ unwavering commitment to national agricultural development.

“We are fully prepared to meet the demands of our farmers and contribute to the agricultural advancement of our country. We have an excellent relationship with our stakeholders — the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, and the Ministry of Finance and Investment Promotion — who continue to support our operations,” he said.

As part of its strategic expansion, Valley Seeds is currently constructing a new storage shed at its Juru Manufacturing Plant to improve logistical capabilities.

In addition, the company recently commissioned a state-of-the-art traditional grains processing plant in Ruwa. It is also developing an oil and stock feed manufacturing facility in the same area, aiming to enhance the entire seed value chain.

Commercial Director Tich Maponga echoed these sentiments, noting that the seed varieties are developed specifically for local conditions.

“This seed is specifically produced for the local market. We are also focusing on increasing the production of vegetable seeds to support the country’s horticultural trajectory,” Maponga explained.

Valley Seeds’ product portfolio includes maize, sorghum, sugar beans, soya beans, sunflower, and a range of traditional grains such as groundnuts, millet, and cowpeas. The company also supplies agricultural inputs like herbicides, knapsacks, and fall armyworm chemicals.

With a legacy spanning over 30 years, Valley Seeds prides itself on its deep knowledge of Zimbabwe’s diverse ecological zones and its ability to provide tailored seed solutions for local farmers.

The company also highlighted its innovative production facilities and robust distribution network, which ensures that farmers across the country receive premium agricultural inputs on time.

“We are proud of our innovative production facilities and a robust delivery network. This ensures farmers get top-quality products, setting the industry standard for excellence,” said a company representative.
