The Zimbabwe Football Association has partnered with Midlands State University to roll out academic and professional training programmes aimed at strengthening football administration across the country.

The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi and MSU Registrar Tinashe Zishiri, marks a step towards professionalising football management from grassroots to elite levels.

“This is a significant milestone for Zimbabwean football,” said Magwizi at the signing ceremony. “By working with a leading academic institution like MSU, we are laying a strong foundation for sustainable growth through education and capacity building. A well-trained team of football administrators will be key to achieving our development goals.”

Zishiri echoed the sentiment, saying the university was eager to support national development through research and training.

“This collaboration allows us to contribute to the sporting sector by leveraging our academic expertise. It's in line with our mission to build capacity for national progress,” he said.

The programme will cover football governance structures across the board—from national bodies to regional associations and clubs—ensuring that administrators are equipped with modern skills and knowledge.
