A 54-year-old man from Goromonzi has been arrested and charged with theft after allegedly stealing work uniforms and protective gear worth US$300 from his former employer in Harare.
Howard Moyana, of Eastview Phase 12 in Goromonzi, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts and was remanded in custody.
The incident came to light on April 5, 2025, when Veronica Mapererenzano, a store assistant at Elegant Age, received a tip-off regarding the theft. She reported the matter to the police, who accompanied her to Moyana’s residence.
The recovered items included four pairs of safety shoes, two rain suits bearing the ZETDC logo, three work suit trousers, and a motorcycle rain suit jacket.
Moyana allegedly took the items during his employment, resulting in a total loss valued at US$300.
