In a move to strengthen governance and drive strategic growth, the Zimbabwe Football Association has appointed two senior executives, effective 1st May 2025. The appointments are part of ZIFA’s ongoing push to professionalise operations, improve financial oversight, and enhance commercial viability.

Norman Gwangwadza has been named Head of Finance and Administration/Financial Controller, while Mark Ruck assumes the newly created position of Commercial Manager. Both are seasoned professionals with decades of leadership experience and are expected to play key roles in ZIFA’s transformation.

Mark Ruck

Gwangwadza is a Chartered Accountant and Registered Public Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in financial management, auditing, and administration. A University of Zimbabwe graduate, he trained with a global professional services firm and has worked across sectors including agriculture and healthcare, with a focus on internal audit and financial systems reform. Most recently, he has provided consultancy services to improve financial controls in various organisations.

Ruck brings over 20 years of commercial and operational leadership across the retail, manufacturing, and supply chain sectors. He has held senior roles overseeing logistics, strategic growth, and cost optimisation initiatives. ZIFA expects him to lead its commercial efforts, increase stakeholder engagement, and unlock new revenue streams to support the development of Zimbabwean football.

Welcoming the appointments, ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi said, “We are delighted to have Mr Norman Gwangwadza and Mr Mark Ruck join the ZIFA executive team. Their wealth of experience and strong leadership credentials will undoubtedly strengthen our financial governance and commercial capabilities. These appointments reflect our commitment to rebuilding Zimbabwean football on a foundation of professionalism, transparency, and sustainability.”

The announcement has received positive feedback from the football community. On social media platform X, one user, Terry, posted, “ZIFA is going in the right direction,” while another, Nicholai Ndlovu, wrote, “Welcome to the era of professionalism. Kudos to the ZIFA leadership.”
