A man from Musonza Village has been brought before the courts, accused of illegally invading a wetland under the Manyame Rural District Council’s jurisdiction.

Tadias Dube, 45, appeared before Magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates' Courts, facing charges of illegally occupying and selling portions of land on the wetland to unsuspecting home seekers.

Dube, along with 12 accomplices who are still at large, allegedly misrepresented themselves as the rightful owners of land situated between Kuora and Musonza villages.

The fraudulent activities came to light after the village head of Kuora reported suspicious developments to the authorities.

According to the court, on September 19, 2024, detectives from the CID Property and Anti-Corruption Unit investigated the claims and confirmed illegal activities on the wetland.

Dube was arrested after investigations linked him to the land deals. Authorities are continuing their search for the remaining suspects.
