Man in court for stealing from employer

A Kuwadzana ma,n who has been stealing from his employer since July, 2022, has appeared in court facing theft allegations.

Lennon Jamu, 30, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with theft.

The State, through prosecutor Grace Mugocheke, alleges that sometime in July 2022 to July, 2023, January had been receipting money which was paid by customers and instead of banking the money with accounts department, instead Jamu used the money to his own benefit.

The State, alleges that, Jamu had been stealing from his employer for a year and that was discovered by the general manager, who was checking the receipt books against the available cash.

The matter was reported to the police, leading to Jamu's arrest but the money was not recovered.

Jamu was ordered to appear in court on July 17.
