Aim-listed Premier Africa Minerals has advised that first production at the Zulu lithium and tantalum project, in Zimbabwe, is behind schedule.
The company is, however confident it will solve the issues causing delays soon.
One of the issues, Premier said, relates to an outstanding final approval from a Zimbabwean authority, which is working closely with the project’s team to provide approval as soon as possible.
The delivery of one outstanding reagent is the other issue causing delay, according to the miner.
The reagent, which is not available in Africa, was short-ordered owing to an error on the part of the plant supplier and as such, despite being free, complications related to airfreight of a chemical substance have resulted in a delay.
Premier said it needed the reagent in order to improve the grade of spodumene concentrate produced.
