Mnangagwa Orders Special Sitting on CAB3

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has summoned the National Assembly to an extraordinary sitting on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at 1415 hours to consider the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 3) Bill (H.B. 1B, 2026) after it was passed by the Senate.

The summons was issued in terms of Section 110(2)(c) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, according to General Notice 1003 of 2026, which was published in an Extraordinary Government Gazette dated 26 June 2026 and signed by Clerk of Parliament Kennedy Chokuda.

A notice from Parliament states that all Members of the National Assembly are required to attend the special sitting, which has been convened specifically to consider the amendments contained in the Constitutional Amendment (No. 3) Bill.

The latest development follows the Senate's approval of the Bill, clearing the way for the National Assembly to consider the amendments before the legislative process can be concluded.
