Hon. Supa Mandiwanzira to Headline NESZ 2026, Bridging Policy and Innovation in Education

 

The National Education Summit of Zimbabwe (NESZ 2026) has announced that Hon. Supa Mandiwanzira, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Primary and Secondary Education, will serve as a distinguished speaker at this year's landmark event.

The summit, which is scheduled to take place from 27 to 30 May 2026 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Grounds in Bulawayo, will focus on the theme: "From Policy to Practice: Driving Innovation & Investment in Zimbabwe’s Education System."

Hon. Mandiwanzira brings a multidisciplinary perspective to the summit, drawing on an extensive background in media, technology, and public policy. Beyond his current legislative role, he is well-recognised as the former Minister of ICT and Cyber Security and as the founder of AB Communications, a media powerhouse that has significantly shaped Zimbabwe’s modern information landscape.

Organisers of NESZ 2026 highlighted that Hon. Mandiwanzira’s participation is strategic, given the summit’s emphasis on integrating technology into the classroom and fostering sustainable investment in the educational sector.

"His track record—ranging from international media experience to the oversight of national technological infrastructure—makes him uniquely qualified to discuss how policy frameworks can be effectively translated into practical, innovative results for Zimbabwean students," a summit representative noted.

As Zimbabwe continues to navigate the digital transformation of its national curriculum, participants are expected to gain critical insights into how legislative leadership can support the adoption of new educational technologies and attract private-sector investment.

The four-day event is anticipated to draw policymakers, educators, investors, and stakeholders from across the region to deliberate on the future of learning in Zimbabwe
