Government and key education stakeholders are set to converge in Bulawayo from May 27 to 29 for the Fourth Annual National Education Summit Zimbabwe (NESZ 2026), a strategic high-level platform aimed at accelerating transformation of the country’s education sector.
The summit, which will run under the theme “From Policy to Practice: Driving Innovation and Investment in Zimbabwe’s Education System,” is expected to bridge the gap between policy formulation and implementation, with a strong focus on delivering practical, measurable outcomes.
Organisers said the indaba marks a significant transition from the former National Education Conference and Exhibition (NECE), signalling a more structured and impactful approach to sector-wide engagement.
“This year’s summit marks a pivotal evolution from the former National Education Conference and Exhibition (NECE). This transition, formalised by a resolution from the 3rd Edition and the Manna Resort Communiqué, signifies a strengthened collaboration between public and private entities,” the organisers said.

“NESZ is now positioned as a high-level national forum dedicated to policy alignment, stakeholder coordination, and comprehensive transformation of the education sector,” reads part of the statement.
The summit is expected to attract wide participation from across Government and the broader education ecosystem.
