This means Sabi will make the trip from Zvishavane to Gwanda specifically to complete the final 23 minutes, rather than replay the full match.
The decision follows earlier uncertainty after the match was stopped with the score at 0-0 due to a waterlogged pitch. Match officials had briefly paused play in an attempt to allow conditions to improve, but were ultimately forced to abandon the game.
“We all wanted to finish the match, but because of the condition of the pitch, we couldn’t continue. ZIFA will make the final ruling,” said match official Musiwa Bayana.
Sabi coach Khumbulani Msendeki also confirmed his team’s position, saying, “we followed the instructions of the match officials. We did not walk away; it was a collective decision based on the conditions.”
At the time, the matter had been referred to Zimbabwe Football Association, but the league has since ruled that the fixture will resume from where it stopped, leaving just 23 minutes to be played.
