Marumo Gallants winger Daniel Msendami has been drafted into the Warriors camp ahead of Zimbabwe’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho, set for Monday evening at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa.

The Zimbabwe Football Association confirmed the call-up on Monday, saying Msendami replaces Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who was ruled out due to an injury that has not yet fully healed.

In a statement, ZIFA said: “The technical team has confirmed that Daniel Msendami joins the camp to replace Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who continues to recover from an injury.

“We salute Thandolwenkosi for his commitment and wish him a speedy recovery. At the same time, we warmly welcome Daniel, whose energy and team spirit will inject fresh life into the Warriors.”

The association added that the Warriors’ unity remains their greatest strength: “When one falls, another rises for the flag. That’s what makes our Warriors unbreakable.”

Zimbabwe head into the match still searching for their first win in Group C after nine outings that have produced five draws.

Their 0-0 stalemate with South Africa in Durban last Friday, however, boosted morale and renewed belief that the team can secure a long-awaited victory.

Lesotho, sitting second from bottom in the group with nine points, will be aiming to repeat their earlier 2-0 triumph over Zimbabwe in Johannesburg.
