The Zimbabwe Football Association has expressed its "deep regret" over an incident that occurred during the Warriors’ media open training session at Orlando Stadium, involving national team striker Tinotenda Kadewere and sports journalist Yvonne Mangunda.

In a statement, ZIFA said: "We strongly condemn any form of abuse towards the media. Journalists are a vital part of the game, and we are committed to ensuring they carry out their duties without fear or intimidation."

The incident, which drew widespread attention on social media, reportedly disrupted an otherwise routine media session.

Kadewere has since issued a personal apology to Mangunda, and ZIFA confirmed that "an amicable understanding between the two parties has been reached."

ZIFA stressed that the matter will not be brushed aside, adding that disciplinary measures are underway.

"The player has apologised to Mangunda, and the matter is being addressed through the appropriate disciplinary processes by both the team management and the Association," the statement continued.
