Air Zimbabwe will introduce daily return flights between Harare and Mutare from 8 to 14 September, coinciding with the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo in Mutare on 10–12 September.
The carrier has labeled the route a pilot project, aiming to gauge demand and determine if it should be maintained long-term. The service will also link with existing Harare–Victoria Falls routes, offering multi-destination travel opportunities.
At the same time, the Grand Reef Airstrip is being upgraded to civilian standards under ICAO best practices, transforming it from a military facility into an efficient gateway for the tourism-rich Eastern Highlands.
