Jelous man assaults lady, breaks her thigh

An Epworth man who assaulted and injured a lady who was in the company of her boyfriend has been granted ZWL50 000 bail by Harare magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure.

Blessing Chanyuka, 20, of Epworth was charged with assault.

The State, alleges that on February, 3, 2023, Chanyuka was in Munyuki Bar when he saw the complainant entering the bar in company of her boyfriend.

Chanyuka started dissing the complainant's boyfriend in an effort to take over the complainant from her boyfriend.

The complainant, realising that the environment had become tense and was sensing danger, took her boyfriend out but before she went out, Chanyuka violently got hold of her, forcing her to the floor.

Chanyuka, further dragged the camplianant outside the bar and continued assaulting her using bare hands.

Chanyuka in the process of beating, stumbled on the complainant's left leg and broke her left thigh.

The complainant was later hospitalised at Parirenyatwa Hospital.

The accused will return to court on May 10, 2023.
