The Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs has launched a new program to help women get jobs and be safe. The event, held last Friday, July 25, brought together key community leaders and business people. The goal is to create new ways to support women and protect their rights.
The program's central goals are clear: to actively promote employment opportunities for women, to establish ways to protect their rights and welfare, and to build a strong network of support by getting different groups to work together.
The event was attended by many important people, including the President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs and the CEO of Zimbabwe Women’s Bank, Dr. Mandas Marikan. Also there was Mr. Mapuranga, a representative for ZANU-PF, and Mr. Levy Idana, the CEO of Stone River Funeral Services. Their presence showed that many different parts of the community are interested in helping women.
The program started with welcoming remarks from the President of the Supreme Council, who spoke about how important it is for women to be strong in society. Dr. Marikan then explained the work of the Zimbabwe Women’s Bank, highlighting how it gives financial help and resources to women who want to start their own businesses. Discussions focused on how to create stable jobs for women and how to protect them from unfair treatment and violence. People at the event shared success stories and talked about how they could all work together in the future.
The meeting ended with a plan of action. The leaders agreed to start new programs to help women find jobs. A special group was also created to come up with detailed plans for keeping women safe. The event also helped to inform people about the financial and social services that are already available to women.
