Zimdancehall artist Silent Killer is allegedly facing a lawsuit amounting to US$122,170 after he reportedly failed to show up for a scheduled performance at the SAMA Festival in Leicester, United Kingdom, on April 19, 2025.
The festival's organisers, Y2K Entertainment Music & Arts, are said to be seeking compensation through their legal representatives for what they claim was a serious breach of contract. Silent Killer allegedly agreed to headline the event but never made it onto the flight to the UK—despite receiving financial assistance and multiple opportunities to travel.
Sources close to the organisers allege that Silent Killer missed three flights and, at one point, demanded an additional US$300 before agreeing to board, citing personal reasons involving his partner. Even after the money was reportedly paid, the artist still did not travel.
According to a letter of demand dated May 16, 2025, and reportedly authored by DM Thombeni Legal Practitioners, the artist's actions caused major disruptions to the event. These included having to fly in a replacement act—Oriyano—and cover extra travel and accommodation costs for both artists and stakeholders.
The law firm further alleges that the promoter had supported the artist financially throughout the process. This included:
US$300 for an emergency passport, US$500 to collect the passport and US$100 for visa biometrics
Additional funds to attend a second visa interview.
Despite receiving these funds and getting his visa approved, Silent Killer allegedly failed to fulfil his obligation, prompting the promoter to consider legal recourse.
The demand letter reportedly outlines various costs incurred, including advance payments, logistical fees, and reputational harm. Of the total US$122,170 claimed, US$100,000 is said to be for reputational damage alone.
It’s also alleged that a video exists in which Silent Killer acknowledges receiving a US$500 advance payment, with a further US$2,000 promised upon arrival in the UK.
Y2K Entertainment has reportedly given the artist seven days to respond before pursuing court action. They are also demanding a 10% collection commission, bringing the total claim to US$134,387 if legal proceedings ensue.
Silent Killer has not publicly responded to the new legal threats, although in an earlier statement he denied accusations that he skipped the flight due to a prophetic dream.
